Art Every Day Number 30 JERSEY was drawn from a vintage photo of football player Jim Thorpe.
Jim Thorpe was an American athlete and Olympic gold medalist who, from 1920-21 served as the first president of the American Professional Football Association (APFA), which later (in 1922) became the NFL. Mr. Thorpe was one of the first men to be admitted to the (American) National Football Foundation’s Hall of Fame, in 1951.
The state of the sport of football in 1951, saw players wearing leather helmets and aluminum shoe cleats being banned.
