Girl with Bowl shows four versions of one story. The same image four times; each created with different medium, each version a stepping stone to the next.

Each version shows a refined vision highlighting newly noted elements of the image or editing (removing) those that are superfluous.

The final version may be the most refined. It might also be the muddiest (the messiest & busiest) in overworked detail.

It’s not (necessarily) the final version of a ‘series’ that is the most interesting; the best part may be in experiencing (as viewer or artist) the process.
